These individual cell walls contain nitrogen gas, which inhibits heat conduction. Unlike open-cell foams, which absorb moisture, this structure repels water ingress, ensuring stable thermal performance over time.
For fire safety compliance, halogenated compounds and fire retardants are integrated directly into the polymer formulation. In the event of a fire, the outer layer charring slows down combustion, reducing smoke density and flame spread.
